Honda City Gets New Features In VX & VX+ Variants
MANILA: It looks like Honda Philippines is gearing up to make its position prominent in the country after the sales result of first quarter. In April, the brand tried promoting its sub-compact sedan with a special edition and now the brand has introduced new features in its leading model City to match up with the increasing competition. Honda City is already a perfectly-designed sedan to tackle the urban jungle of the Philippines. By combining form and function in an effective manner, City has turned out to be a perfect practical sedan that gives a pleasurable driving experience.
To further complement the capabilities of this sedan, the manufacturer has introduced new audio visual navigation system (AVN) in VX and VX+ variants, which is powered by Garmin. Embedded with CUBE user interface, the new AVN system features 3D representation of different controls which helps the user in controlling them with 3-finger swiping gesture. The AVN system also displays the frequently used app by the user on the screen, which can be easily accessed through the widget home screen. Through Voice command, the user can activate navigation, control media as well as phone features hands-free.
Under the hood there are no significant changes and the sedan is fueled with 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, which is capable of delivering a maximum power output of 118 hp and peak torque of 145 Nm. On the transmission front one can opt either a 5-speed manual or much convenient CVT according to the requirement. Despite some significant changes, the manufacturer has managed to retain the prices of City and the VX Navi CVT variant is priced P908,000 while the VX+ Navi CVT can be grabbed at P998,000.
In addition to this, Honda Philippines has also introduced new 1.5 E variant, which now features auto door lock system at speed above 15 kmph and a set of fog lights for better visibility. The prices for 1.5 E MT & CVT have been also retained, available at P759,000 and P799,000 respectively. Let's see how these minor changes turn out in favor of this sedan and how Honda promotes City for uplifting its position against Vios, Ciaz and Accent.
