Honda CR-V gets Modulo styling kit for Japan

MANILA: The Honda CR-V was introduced around a year back which did quite a commendable job in every region. However, there was only one issue that almost every prospective buyer had, which was related to the Modulo styling.

Yes, Honda hadn’t introduced the CR-V Modulo pack until now. But it has only been brought for the Japanese market presently. This new styling kit means there are additions on the aesthetic front and not on the engine mechanism. The company even claims that the additional parts can even be bought individually.

On the physical front, there is a new set of alloy wheels and full body kit for visual enhancements. The front section has a deep lower lip with angular edges to offer a sportier presence. The black cladding on the sides are thicker and have aluminium strips too.

At the rear, there is a faux skid plate along with a newly designed bumper. The mentioned alloy wheels get the blacked-out form, but buyers can opt for the silver trim too. Besides these, there are step boards and roof rails too. Chrome bits can be added on the fenders and side mirrors.

Inside the Honda CR-V Modulo variant, there are Modulo floor mats and illuminated door-sill plates. The seats are wrapped with Alcantara leather upholstery. Everything else seems to be the same as the standard model.

For the Philippines market, Honda offers the CR-V in two engine options, which include a 1.6-litre diesel and a bigger 2.0-litre petrol. The diesel trim can make a maximum power of 120 PS along with a peak torque of 300 Nm. On the other hand, the bigger petrol motor can make a better 154 PS of power but lesser 189 Nm of torque.

Whether the company will introduce the Modulo kit in the Philippines or not is still unknown. The local price of the CR-V starts from around Php 1,650,000.
