Honda PH recalls Jazz and Select City Models
MANILA: Honda PH has initiated a recall for Jazz and Select City models as the cars have been detected with faulty ECU software. The 2014 select City and 2015 Jazz models are doing good business in the country and the company seeks to update the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software. Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has come up with this preventive aid in order to correct the software functionality in these Honda models.
According to the testing experts of Honda PH, the vehicle models installed with the current ECU causes heavy stress in the Drive Pulley Shaft which is present inside the Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). So, the company wants to update it immediately because the breaking of the Drive Pulley Shaft may become a big problem for the vehicle.
However, there are no reports of any accidents related to this issue but it’s HCPI which took the campaign to make the vehicles safer. HCPI has advised all the owners of the concerned Honda models to contact their nearest Honda car dealerships and service centers. It will hardly take an hour to update the ECU software.
Honda Cars Philippines has apologized for any inconvenience caused to the owners and assured that the recall is meant to provide complete safety.
The concerned customers may visit www.hondaphil.com to get the complete list of affected vehicles along with their frame numbers. For further information regarding this campaign, you may contact Honda at (02) 857-7240 or drop an email at update@hondaphil.com.
