Hyundai airdrops NFT collection inspired by Ioniq 6

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company introduced a detailed roadmap of Ioniq Citizenship, a utility package for holders of the Ioniq 6 NFT Collection.

Revealed on the same day as the Ioniq 6’s world premiere, the Ioniq 6 NFT Collection was the second official non-fungible token (NFT) set issued by Hyundai Motor to date. 

Rather than distributing the Ioniq 6 NFT Collection through sales, Hyundai released it via airdrop for free to allow more people to participate in the unique experiences.

The Ioniq 6 NFT is designed to provide new experiences and cater to millennial and Gen Z consumers in particular.

As Hyundai's "electrified streamliner" delivers personalized  experiences for drivers, the company plans to expand Ioniq 6’s electrified experience in the digital space.

The Ioniq Citizenship NFT membership program provides the owners of the car with exclusive experiences and utilities. The Ioniq 6 Citizenship can enhance the ownership of the Ioniq lineup to the digital space with no physical limitations.

Special digital content and physical items related to the electric sedan are included in the collection, and some utilities may vary by rarity.

The Ioniq 6 experiences will be brought by Hyundai's various partnerships. This starts with virtual fashion items giveaways and exclusive VIP access on Planet Hyundai, Hyundai Motor's virtual space that opened on ZEPETO, the global metaverse platform, on July 14th in collaboration with Naver Z.

Owners can redeem a gift card for a physical custom phone case from NFTYC (NFT Your Case), the world’s first NFT phone case manufacturer, a part of global tech accessory brand Casetify.

Afterwards, Hyundai  will gradually offer an interactive virtual space for a holder exclusive event called Ioniq Digital Garage. 

The Ioniq 6 NFT Collection reflects personalized customer experiences that are completed with the flexible interior. Hyundai has ssued 5,000 NFTs in six different themes that are called Fun Driving, Stress-Free Driving, Work, Socializing, Healing and Entertainment.

Each of the NFTs features a unique art ,a generative format that randomly combines various backgrounds, exterior colors and objects that can result in tens of thousands of combinations.

The NFT backgrounds represent the electric sedan's mindful interior space and are inspired by the car's Dual Color Ambient Lighting. Four NFT-exclusive colors the emphasize the futuristic design that is signature to the Ioniq family. 

In a statement, Executive Vice President, Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Customer Experience Division of Hyundai Thomas Schemera said: “Hyundai Motor has continuously explored new methods to connect and involve our customers. The Ioniq 6 NFT Collection is a meaningful endeavor to expand the boundary of NFTs from simple investment and possession to experiences and storytelling.”

“We hope to increase the connection with customers and interact in a more innovative way, based on the unique value of the Ioniq lineup. We will continue to provide ‘phygital (physical + digital)’ experiences that merge the real world and the digital world for the new generation of customers who are more accustomed to digital technology.”

Through the Capsule Ioniq NFT newsletter, Hyundai will share about the Ioniq lineup’s to strengthen relationships with the NFT community starting from August. Inspired by the capsule collections of fashion brands, Capsule Ioniq will tell stories about Hyundai's family of electric vehicles in an experimental format.
