Hyundai Stargazer

Unlike the exterior design, which is polarizing, the interior layout of the Hyundai Stargazer is a bit tone-down in its appeal. However, it still looks fresh and is feature packed, which makes the Stargazer a comfortable and pleasant place to be in.

Behind the four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, the Hyundai Stargazer gets a wide-looking horizontally-laid cockpit. On the left, it gets a carved hollow housing a fully digital instrument console, and to its right, it gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay supports. The bright silver theme chosen for the dashboard's middle layer adds a nice contrast to the interior finish.

For its segment, the Hyundai Stargazer gets an impressive list of equipment, comprising leather upholstery, a 6-speaker audio system, a wireless charger and manual AC with rear AC vents. For the rear seat occupants, this MPV gets a back seat table, charging ports and cup holders, which are also present in the front centre armrest.

Hyundai is on a spree of launching radical-looking vehicles in all the segments where it has a presence. With the Stargazer, Hyundai has made the compact MPV segment interesting with its radical looks, which might draw the attention of many, but at the same time, can be hated for its polarizing appeal.

At the front, the Hyundai Stargazer has a bold-looking fascia with a rectangular grille in the middle flanked by C-shaped satin silver garnish panels, which have all-LED headlamps stacked vertically beside them. Like in some modern Hyundais, the Stargazer also has a sleek strip of daytime running LED running across the width of the front profile above the fascia on the bonnet.

The Hyundai Stargazer has an aerodynamic appearance when viewed from the side, with it having a poised stance courtesy of the sharp creases and squared wheel arches. The side window panels and rear quarter glass panels look large and accentuate the overall size of the Stargazer. Adding a pinch of premium appeal to this side profile are 16-inch machined alloy wheels.

Like the front, the rear profile of the Hyundai Stargazer is also visually dramatic, with the vertically-stacked and angular tail lamps and connecting LED bar running between them making it look unique. Like in the Creta, the license plate housing is also trapezoidal-shaped with a gloss black slab placed over it.

Apart from having a decently long list of features, the Hyundai Stargazer also impresses with the sense of comfort it offers with its seats, sense of space and ride quality. The Stargazer gets soft-tuned Macpherson struts at the front and coil-over torsion beam at the rear, which along with the multiple drive modes on offer, can offer a composed ride quality.

Powering the Hyundai Stargazer is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine, which is paired to a CVT in all three variants of the MPV. While this engine produces a maximum power output of 115 PS, its torque output is rated at 144 Nm.

For a compact MPV, the Hyundai Stargazer has an impressive list of safety features, which come with front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control and tyre pressure monitoring system. The top-spec trim is also equipped with a full suite of ADAS features, which includes forward collision avoidance assist, blind spot collision avoidance assist, lane keep assist, rear occupant alert, rearview monitor, high beam assist, driver attention warning, safe exit warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist, reverse parking distance warning, lane following assist and cruise control.

The Hyundai Stargazer has an extrovert design, which might be polarizing and turn-off for some. But beyond that attention-grabbing look, it is a pleasant vehicle with a feature-rich and spacious cabin good enough for making your long drives comfortable.
