To facilitate this, Hyundai and Kia's connected car services will be integrated to Samsung's Internet of Things platform known as Smartthings.

There will be different modes to choose from, including Home Mode which creates a cozy and pleasant living space by allowing the user to turn on the lights, the registered air conditioning system, and the air purifier at home even if they are still on the road.
Meanwhile, when the user is about to leave their place, they can activate Away Mode to turn off unnecessary lights at home and pre-activate their car's air conditioning system.
Furthermore, electric vehicle owners can monitor their home's and vehicle's energy usage and adjust the optimal charging times through Smartthings' integrated home energy management service.
To make these features possible, Hyundai and Kia will be developing reliable service-providing infotainment systems with over-the-air and USB-based updates.
