Hyundai launches BIYAHEnihan for Southern Luzon medical frontliners
MANILA: In line with its disaster relief program #HyundaiSAGIP, Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), through the assistance of HARI Foundation Inc. (HFI), introduced the "BIYAHEnihan" program in Southern Luzon to help ferry frontliners. This is the automobile company’s approach at showing support in the fight against COVID-19 in the Philippines.
HARI is the distributor of Hyundai commercial vehicles and passenger cars in the country. Because of its commitment in terms of manufacturing, sales, and dealership, the automobile company has reaped the Hyundai Asia-Pacific Distributor of the Year award for four years (2005, 2006, 2008, and 2013). HARI also gained the Hyundai Global Distributor of the Year for 2010 and 2016.
HARI is comprised of a network of 14 commercial vehicle and 42 passenger car dealerships. The company continues to be dedicated to its mission of being the top automotive company and trusted partner of Filipinos for attaining a sustainable future.
The BIYAHEnihan endeavors to provide adequate transportation for medical supplies and health personnel to Dr. JP Rizal Memorial District Hospital in Calamba, Laguna, and St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center (SFCMC) in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
Both hospitals hold a strong partnership with the Hyundai Logistics Center (HLC) in Laguna. SFCMC delivers HLC medical health bulletins every month. Meanwhile, Dr. JP Rizal Hospital offers the logistic center workers triage for medical emergencies. They also hold safety and health training programs together with the Philippine National Red Cross.
The vehicles to be used for transporting frontliners include a Hyundai HD65, Hyundai Starex, and a Hyundai Country Bus.
According to HARI CEO and president Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, they hope that the BIYAHEnihan program will empower and inspire the frontliners of Southern Luzon in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic. HARI promises to fill in the gaps through a collaborative effort to flatten the curve.
HARI, through the help of HFI, also supports the current COVID-19 containment initiatives in terms of providing a new batch of 2,500 PPEs for the medical frontliners at the UP Philippine General Hospital (UP PGH). UP PGH, the biggest government health facility and referral center, as well as the premier university hospital of the Philippines, is the initial partner of HFI for the "Alagang Breastfriend" information dissemination and free breast cancer screening project.
