Hyundai Motor Group exec wins 2023 Automotive News All-Stars Award

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung received the 2023 Automotive News All-Stars Award in the Industry Leader category.

For four decades, Automotive News All-Stars has been honoring visionary figures in the mobility sector who have shown a remarkable commitment to innovation and advancement.

The winner of the All-Stars Industry Leader award must have had a major influence on the industry and demonstrated operational excellence in their field. The recognition is given to the individuals at the highest level of their organizations.

“I’d like to thank the Automotive News team for this special award – it is an honor to be named the 2023 All-Stars Industry Leader. This award is in recognition of the entire Hyundai Motor Group family and partners all around the world who have worked so hard and devoted themselves to making sure that we achieve our vision of smart, sustainable mobility and progress for humanity,” Chung stated.

The award serves as a testament to Chung’s driving role in advancing technology and sustainability as part of Hyundai Motor Group’s strategy for future mobility.

Before becoming the head honcho of the Hyundai Motor Group, Chung served as the group’s executive vice chair from 2018 to 2020. He also sat as the vice chair of Hyundai Motor Company from 2009 to 2018 and as the president of Kia Corporation from 2005 to 2009.

Under Executive Chair Euisun Chung, this industry juggernaut is putting the ‘new’ into new mobility, with global leadership and a slew of tomorrow’s technologies. Among the previous recipients of the Automotive News All-Stars Award in the Industry Leader category are Ford Executive Chair Bill Ford (2020), General Motors Chair and Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra (2018), and Fiat and Chrysler Automobiles Chief  Executive Officer Segio Marchionne (2014).
