Hyundai strengthens commitment to sustainable future through ‘Continue’

MANILA: Hyundai Motor Company has launched “Continue,” an overarching project that will incorporate all of the firm’s global CSV (Creating Shared Value) efforts. Continue reflects Hyundai’s everlasting commitment to a sustainable future, as represented by the infinity logo.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What are the three key areas of focus of Continue?

Continue’s three key areas of focus are Earth, Mobility, and Hope.
  • What is Hyundai's "Continue" video about?

The video raises awareness about marine plastic pollution by depicting the journey of a plastic bottle waste that was retrieved after decades of floating in the sea and upcycled into an eco-friendly material for vehicles. To better engage with millennials and Generation Z, the video features anthropomorphic storytelling and animation.
  • Continue’s three main areas of focus are Earth, Mobility, and Hope.

Earth activities concentrate on local environmental issues in various areas, including ghost net removal and resource upcycling in Europe and rainforest restoration in Latin America.

Mobility activities will improve safety and convenience through rehabilitation support for traffic accident patients with the use of a virtual driving simulator and a safety program for school vehicles with the help of big data technology.

Hope activities strive to help in the growth of future generations through initiatives like “Hope on Wheels” in North America, which raises awareness of childhood cancer, and “H-Mobility Class” in Korea, which promotes youth talent in the fields of vehicle electrification and autonomous driving.

Hyundai also produced a promotional video titled “Continue – The Jouney of PET,” which raises awareness about marine plastic pollution by depicting the journey of a plastic bottle waste that was retrieved after decades of floating in the sea and upcycled into an eco-friendly material for vehicles. To better engage with millennials and Generation Z, the video features anthropomorphic storytelling and animation. Watch the video here.

With a commitment to develop a sustainable future, Hyundai has been conducting several environmental-focused CSV efforts. Last year, the company collaborated with Healthy Seas, a non-government organization (NGO) in the Netherlands, to collect 78 tons of ghost nets and marine waste, which were repurposed into sustainable products like the floormats of the Ioniq 5 sold in Europe.
