Hyundai teases second-gen Creta for the Indian market

MANILA: The Auto Expo 2020 in India is in full swing as we see automaker revealing exciting concepts, new vehicles, and updated versions of already on-sale models. Since SUVs and crossovers are in trend, the majority of automakers are bringing out high-riding cars out of their hats.

Following the suite, Hyundai is all set to launch the second-generation model of its popular compact SUV Creta in India. However, the launch will happen sometime in March 2020, and the South Korean automaker will be displaying the updated SUV tomorrow, that is, 6th February 2020, at Auto Expo 2020. Moreover, Hyundai has also released a teaser prior to the official unveiling.

Known as the Hyundai iX25 in China, the all-new Creta is expected to come vaunting a similar appearance and list of features as the iX25. The exterior will boast an overhaul with Hyundai's Sensuous 2.0 design philosophy making way to the Creta. A Venue-like cascading grille, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, flared wheel arches, body cladding, roof rails, LED taillamps, and other elements will form the exterior of the revisited SUV.

The interior of the second-gen Hyundai Creta for India will arrive with a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with all the latest connectivity features like Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, panoramic sunroof, automatic parking brake, leather upholstery, automatic climate control, and many other creature comforts.

Powering the all-new Hyundai Creat will be a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol-fed engine, 1.5-litre petrol, and a 1.-5-litre diesel mill. Transmission options will include a CVT, six-speed torque converter, and a seven-speed DCT depending on the choice of engine. Once launched, the second-generation Hyundai Creta will take on its competitors such as Kia Seltos, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, and Renault Captur, and others in the Indian automobile space.
