Hyundai to Enter the Luxury Club with Vision G Concept Coupe
MANILA: Luxury, we all crave for it, and if it is the high-end mean machine that lures you the most, who better than German auto makers can understand that urge. These days car makers from different leagues are trying their hand on luxury cars. To list a few Toyota with Lexus, Nissan with Infinity and the latest to join the group is Hyundai. The Korean car maker with Hyundai Genesis hopes to leave a mark on the auto world.
Hyundai has revealed the first look of Vision G Concept Coupe, rightly explaining the future luxury vision of Hyundai. Displayed to a limited number of media persons ahead of its 2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance debut, at Los Angeles.
Hyundai's luxury creation is an output of company design houses present all over the world, working under the direction of chief designer Petre Schyerer. The car so developed is an amalgamation of luxury, performance, and style with value and responsibility that forms the foundation stone of Hyundai. Schreyer explained "The concept was designed with coordinated input from Hyundai design studios around the world, but was led by our team here in the U.S. The design is our interpretation of the idea that Hyundai breathes into all of its vehicles – a DNA that balances design and performance with the idea that you don't need to be over the top in terms of glitz and stereotypical luxury cues." Word chivalry truly justifies the Vision G Concept, it standouts for itself and 'appears dynamic and in constant motion'.
First thing first, Vision G is a well crafted four seat coupe, with a large bonnet characterized by sharp contour lines, followed by enlarging gaping grille and a stunning pair of headlights. All this is accompanied by high beltline giving the coupe a timeless look. Its exquisite design language is followed throughout its side profile, moving smoothly towards the rear end.
Hyundai's high-end luxury mission is well sensed inside the cabin area. From dashboard to the center console, seat to door panels all carries a touch of elegance. The ivory colored seats smoothly blend with the chrome and woodwork featured in the car, making the car interior inviting.
Under its large bonnet houses a 5.0L Tau V8 engine that churns out a maximum power of 420 hp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 519 Nm at 5,000 rpm. On the technological front, the concept coupe features 'valet doors' that opens automatically when the driver approaches the car, making the whole driving experience lot more fun. Further spec details are not yet revealed by Hyundai, giving rise to numerous speculations, like it's expected to employ a classic GT-esque front-engined, rear-wheel drive configuration.
Currently developed as a concept, we hope Hyundai soon plans to fly it to production stage.
