Isuzu Bulacan wins overall title in 16th Isuzu Service Skills Olympics
MANILA: Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) hosted the 16th Isuzu Service Skills Olympics (ISSO) virtual awarding ceremony last June 11, 2021. IPC conducts the ISSO to assess the knowledge and skills of service technicians, service advisors, and parts staff from Isuzu dealerships nationwide.
Isuzu Bulacan emerged as the Dealer Grand Champion of the 16th ISSO. Joining them in the top five are Isuzu Bulacan, Isuzu Pasig, Isuzu Iloilo, Isuzu Makati, and Isuzu Cabanatuan.
In a statement, IPC Vice President for Aftersales Wataru Miyamoto said, “It is very unfortunate that we cannot do our usual ISSO face to face. However, this year, we strive for excellence as we intend to continue to improve the technical skills capabilities of all aftersales staff and personnel. This pandemic caused a major disruption to our business. Please allow me to express my sincere appreciation to our dealers for all your continuous support to our ongoing after-sales programs despite these trying times.”
The virtual event was also graced by IPC President Hajime Koso who congratulated the group not just for the successful ISSO run but also for the Triple Star Rating that they received in the yearly aftersales performance evaluation of IML. He stated, “Only five out of 33 countries worldwide received the esteemed rating. Being one of the five to receive the award proved that all the aftersales activities of the Philippines are of high caliber and top of the class in Isuzu network’s standard around the world. This will not be made possible without the efforts and cooperation of our dealers.”
The ISSO is composed of three categories that are joined by after-sales team members from different Isuzu dealerships nationwide. Each category has equivalent weighted points that are used to determine the Dealer Grand Champion.
For the Parts Staff category, John Paulo Fabian of Isuzu Pangasinan was hailed as the champion. Jenalyn Batis of Isuzu Bulacan was awarded as the first runner-up, while Alex Lardizabal of Isuzu Alabang was the second runner-up.
Alan Paul Castillo of Isuzu Cabanatuan took the championship in the Service Advisor category. John Miguel Alacha of Isuzu Butuan was the first runner-up, while Jonel Barrientos of Isuzu Iloilo was awarded as the second runner-up.
For the Service Technician category, Deolito Galono and Christian Japson of Isuzu Bulacan were hailed as the champions. They were followed by Rommel Tapia and Arjay Ang-angan of Isuzu Pasig. Eric Donghil and Genesis Maniago of Isuzu Makati were hailed as the second runners-up.
IPC also gears up for the upcoming I-1 Grand Prix – Isuzu World Technical Competition, which will also be held virtually on November 24 to 26, 2021. The event will be participated in by Isuzu distributors across the globe.
