Isuzu to introduce electric Elf and enhanced Giga series in 2020

MANILA: Isuzu is set to pull the wraps off the all-new D-Max pickup truck in the next week. With that said, the Japanese automaker's portfolio appears to be pretty good, right? Besides, Isuzu is also very keen on bestowing its commercial vehicle lineup with electrified and upgraded vehicles.

So, with the beginning of the year 2020, Isuzu will also give its commercial vehicle lineup a new direction with an all-electric Elf and an upgrade and better than before Giga series.

To start with, the all-new Giga will sport advanced and high-tech safety features like automatic emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection system, and blind-spot monitoring system. Also, to make truck drivers' lives easy, Isuzu will equip the Giga with redesigned high-roof cab and adaptive cruise control.

Coming on to the more tasty piece of cake, the all-new Elf will now receive its juices from a pack of batteries and electric motors instead of a diesel-fed turbocharged internal combustion engine. Moreover, it's not just the all-electric powertrain that will new on the Elf, as other modern-day features like 3D surround-view camera, side view cameras, swivel seat for the driver, and others will also make their way to the truck.

It will be the upcoming 2019 Tokyo Motor Show where Isuzu will put on display the electric Elf and the upgraded Giga for the time for the viewers.

The SUV is priced at Php 1,685,000.
