Jeep gives its Gladiator pickup truck some Altitude

MANILA: Just two years after its return, Jeep gives its rugged Gladiator pickup truck an upmarket trim and calls it Altitude.

For those unfamiliar with this model, the Gladiator is based on the fourth-generation Jeep Wrangler. While the latter is available in the Philippines, the former is not but if it comes, it will be in the same segment as the Chevy Colorado, Ford Ranger, Nissan Navarra, Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Strada, and Mazda BT-50.

It currently offers five models, the Sport, Overland, the limited-edition Rubicon, and the Sport S from which the Altitude is based on.

Exterior features include a body-color grille with dark gray mesh inside, headlamp rings, body-color fender flares, black Jeep and Trail Rated badging and 18-inch Granite Crystal aluminum wheels wrapped in 255/70R18 Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain tires. A black Freedom hardtop is standard on Gladiator Altitude while the dual top is an available option.

The cabin features standard black cloth seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel with black stitching and black instrument panel mid-bolster and bezels.

Under the hood is the same engine from 2018, a 3.6L Pentastar V6 and the rear brings up the versatile cargo box. What makes the Gladiator unique to other pickup trucks is the ability to provide an open-air driving experience.

All Gladiator models are Trail Rated, which means it can perform in a variety of challenging off-road conditions.

In the US, the Gladiator Altitude is priced at US$40,340 or P2.01 million.
