Jeep marks 80 years of enabling adventures
MANILA: This year, Jeep celebrates 80 years of making adventure vehicles that have accompanied the brand’s avid customers on- and off-road.
The brand recently launched the 2021 edition of the Jeep Compass, which is positioned to be a perfect small sports utility vehicle (SUV) for modern adventures. The Jeep Compass features an urban exterior look that is accentuated by Bi-Xenon high-intensity discharge headlamps with LED signature strip and 18-inch polished aluminum wheels with black painted pockets.
The SUV offers a spacious cabin that comes with an Alpine premium audio system, a Uconnect 4 entertainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a seven-inch reconfigurable driver information digital cluster display. The Compass comes in 4x2 and 4x4 variants which both deliver outstanding performance on the road. The 4x4 variants use a Selec-Terrain Traction Management System that helps the vehicle to adapt to any road condition. The 2021 Jeep Compass is best known for its reliability as it offers over 70 modern safety and security technologies.
Another well-loved Jeep model is the compact Renegade that is well-crafted with signature Jeep Brand features and amenities. The vehicle is motivated by a 1.3-liter MultiAir turbo engine that produces maximum output of 177hp and torque of 210 lb-ft. The Jeep Renegade’s powertrain is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle comes with various off-road capability features such as Trail Rated capability and Selec-Terrain Traction Management system. For better visibility, the Renegade is equipped with LED headlamps, tail lamps, and fog lamps. The vehicle provides more sense of openness with its dual-pane panoramic sunroof with power sunshade. To keep its occupants entertained in every ride, the Renegade gets the latest car infotainment features such as Apple CarPlay support, Android Auto integration, and a nine-speaker Kenwood Premium audio system. It also comes with modern safety technologies including blind spot monitoring, rear cross path detection, and LaneSense lane departure warning with lane keep assist.
The brand also presents its "100% truck and 100% Jeep" model, the Gladiator. The vehicle is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar Engine that delivers a maximum torque of 442lb-ft and a fuel economy rating of up to 28 highway mpg. Although it is primarily made for off-road adventures, the Gladiator’s cabin also offers premium comfort and convenience features through its cozy leather-trimmed seats and dual-zone automatic temperature control, The cockpit features a seven-inch TFT cluster display and an 8.4-inch U-Connect display that can be connected to a smartphone through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The vehicle also comes with a 115-volt in-bed power outlet with a 400-watt inverter that can come handy in camping activities. The Gladiator further proves that it is indeed “a true pickup truck” as it is developed with a best-in-class 7,650-lb gas towing capacity and a best-in-class 4x4 1,700-lb payload. Moreover, the Jeep Gladiator is packed with over 80 safety features including blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control to guarantee a secured ride on any terrain.
Jeep also takes pride of the “unmatched capability” of the iconic Wrangler, which is considered as one of the world’s most reliable vehicles. The Jeep Wrangler uses a 2.0-liter turbo engine and Selec-Trac 4x4 System with full-time mode that enables the vehicle’s four-wheel drive capability. To experience open-air freedom, the Wrangler comes with a removable Freedom Top hardtop, a Sunrider soft top, a Sky One-Touch roof, and a fold-down windshield and removable doors. The vehicle is also equipped with a Uconnect 4 entertainment system with seven-inch touchscreen display, voice command feature, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity. Just like the Compass, the Wrangler also comes with an Alpine premium audio system, and features a washable waterproof interior to easily clean the cabin after going through an off-road adventure. For fuss-free parking, the Wrangler uses the Parksense rear park assist system with sonar sensors that can detect obstructions behind the vehicle. This off-roader also carries more than 75 standard and available safety and security features.
All four Jeep models are available at any Jeep dealership nationwide (Greenhills, Alabang, Clark, and Cebu). Pricing starts at P1.49 million.
