Jeep previews next-gen Compass

MANILA: Jeep is poised to release a new generation of the Compass small sport utility vehicle (SUV).

Per the Stellantis-owned car company, the next-generation Jeep Compass will be built on the STLA Medium platform and will offer various multi-energy propulsion systems. As a result, the upcoming iteration of the nameplate is expected to deliver “affordable capability, top performance, and advanced technology.”

It is expected to make its debut in Europe in 2025 and will be produced in Melfi, Italy. After which, it will then be offered in North America — and everywhere else in the world — the following year.

A photo was released by the American carmaker (see picture above) that showed sculpted lines and angular accents. It appears to have linear bodylines as well as accents on the rear side of its flanks that would give it a floating roof design.

The presence of roof rails, chunky wheel arches, and solid door claddings, also seem to hint at its outdoorsy capabilities.

The Jeep compact SUV was once offered here in the Philippines.

Here, it had a 1.4-liter MultiAir gasoline engine, which produced 159 horsepower with 250 Newton-meters of torque.

Other notable features of the once locally available Jeep Compass included a set of 18-inch polished aluminum wheels and a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

It was made available in a sole Longitude variant.
