Jeep trucks on with Gladiator
MANILA: Auto Nation Group, the official distributor of Jeep vehicles in the Philippines, has rolled out its pickup, the Jeep Gladiator.
After more than 30 years, the Jeep Gladiator is the first pickup to be manufactured since the production of the Jeep Commanche ceased in 1992.
Truck capability combined with classic Jeep brand design establishes the standard in terms of its adventure-like appeal. The Gladiator is regarded as the final addition to the Jeep lineup for this year, along with the Wrangler, Compass, and the Renegade.
The Jeep Gladiator is not only a Wrangler with a five-foot compartment as a truck bed, but is carefully designed from the ground up to offer iconic Jeep capability, functionality, and authentic truck utility.
Dirt bikes can be loaded conveniently and hassle-free through the four-string tie-down loops incorporated at the back area of the truck bed.
The Jeep Gladiator can also be used for daily driving as well as for extreme adventure and off-road driving during weekends. It is also ideal for various activities such as biking, camping, and hiking.
The Jeep Gladiator flaunts the iconic seven-slotted grille, making it more stylish. It is also fitted with the Jeep performance LED tail lamps and headlamps, which provide more illumination and conveniently allows it to be more visible.
The power dome dual-vented hood eliminates heat from the engine compartment and contributes to the rugged appeal of the Gladiator.
The Jeep Gladiator, similar with the Wrangler, is also fitted with removable aluminum doors, freedom top, and windshield, which takes about 20 minutes to be disassembled.
The body-color fenders are large enough to acquire a set of 35-inch tires. Provided as an accessory, the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon comes as standard with rock rails and steel rear bumpers. This gives anyone the additional hold and rear protection against aggressive off-road driving.
The trail-rated badge is also something that the Jeep Gladiator has earned through a series of challenging tests over the roughest terrain to prove their tolerance to extreme conditions and provide spectacular off-road ability.
The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, provides torque of 352Nm and a power output of 285hp.
As part of the initiatives of Jeep to promote environmental awareness, the Penstastar engine includes an engine stop-start system that helps in fuel conservation. This system shuts down the engine whenever it is not being used.
The Jeep Gladiator also features an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen display that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The rubberized infotainment system frame is also waterproof in case of a drive under the rain. A broad selection of tracks can be played with excellent audio quality through the Alpine premium audio system.
Beneath the classic exterior, the Jeep Gladiator is fitted with the latest and available standard security and safety technology, customized for anyone’s convenience. Through the remote start system, two presses on the key fob can start the engine of the Gladiator and warm the air conditioner (AC).
Being a long vehicle, the Jeep Gladiator also features blind-spot monitoring that utilizes radar-based sensors, assisting drivers through alerts of any vehicle during traveling in the blind spot zone. This also aids in enabling backing out of parking spaces and lane changing safely. This feature can also be combined with the functions of the ParkView rear back-up camera.
Another new feature is the off-road plus mode, which adapts to the 4x4 settings of the vehicle, providing it with options, either the 4Hi or the 4Lo design. It is also matched with the electronic sway bar disconnect for enhanced front axle articulation. The rear differentials and Tru-lok front also handle the traction control system conveniently.
For drivers gearing up for an adventure-filled ride, the Jeep Gladiator takes pride in being the only truck that provides customers with payload capability, towing, and the iconic Jeep 4x4 capability. It also includes an open-air experience for drivers to be able to enjoy their surroundings during road travel.
The Jeep Gladiator is available in all Jeep dealerships nationwide, specifically in Cebu, Pampanga (Clark), Alabang, and EDSA Greenhills. The Gladiator Rubicon can be availed at P4,790,000, while the Gladiator Sport is priced at P3,890,000.
The virtual premiere of the Jeep Gladiator last July 11 at 3 p.m. can be seen here.
The new 2021 Jeep Gladiator has also been launched in Michigan, USA, last July 10, wherein its anticipated fuel economy ratings will bring the highest driving range on one tank of fuel for the Gladiator.
The new 2021 Gladiator comes with a 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine that produces 260 hp of power output and 599 Nm of torque, which is available in Rubicon, Overland, and Gladiator Sport models. It also includes the stop-start (ESS) technology as standard.
The new 2021 Jeep Gladiator is already open for customer orders and it will be rolled out in Jeep showrooms by the third quarter of 2020.
