JLR global H1 sales up by 3%

MANILA: The global sales of Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) for the first half of the year increased by three percent.

According to the Tata-owned British car brand, the company sold a total of 214,288 cars from January to June.

However, its sales for the second quarter — which covers the months of April, May, and June — reportedly dipped by three percent compared to the same time period in 2023. For the abovementioned period, JLR sold 103,108 vehicles.

No mention of which vehicles were among the sales drivers, but JLR noted that a mix of nameplates including the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, and Defender made up some 67 percent of total wholesale volumes.

“We expect both production and wholesale volumes to pick up strongly in the second half of the financial year as the aluminum supply situation normalizes,” the company wrote in a press release.

In the Philippines, JLR has stirred the local luxury sport utility vehicle segment when it launched the Range Rover SV sometime in April.

Aside from the aforementioned, the carmaker offers local car buyers models such as the Land Rover Defender 130, Defender 110, Defender 90, Discovery Sport, and Range Rover Sport (which was rolled out in the Philippines back in 2023).
