Astara-backed distributor to bring in JMEV models to expand brand’s roster

MANILA: JMC (Jiangling Motors Corporation) will expand its two-model lineup in the Philippines as it is set to introduce electrified models in the country soon.

The Astara-backed company has yet to share the launch date of the JMEV model that will be offered in the local market.According to the Astara-backed distributor, it will launch models under JMEV (Jiangxi Jiangling Group New Energy Vehicle Company Limited).

“From rugged workhorse pickups to everyday electric sedans, JMEV brings a fresh and future-forward alternative to Filipino consumers. With a balance of advanced technology, efficiency, and reliability, JMEV cars complement JMC Philippines' existing models, offering a versatile selection for both eco-conscious drivers and those who demand rugged performance,” the company said in a statement.
To note, the Chinese automaker currently offers the Grand Avenue and Vigus.
While waiting for JMC Philippines to announce what JMEV models it will bring it locally, the Chinese marque’s new-energy-vehicle subsidiary offers three nameplates in global markets namely:
- EV2
- EV3
- Elight
