Kia EV9 makes it to Popular Science’s ‘2023 Best of What’s New’ list

MANILA: The 2024 Kia EV9 has been included in the “2023 Best of What’s New” list of Popular Science.

With its innovative use of interior materials, the three-row all-electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) has stood out as one of the year’s “greatest innovations,” according to the American science and technology publication.

“The EV9 SUV is accelerating the EV revolution through a holistic commitment to innovation, including our ‘10 Must-Have Items’ that establish a new paradigm in color, material, and finish… This accolade from Popular Science boldly underscores what a game changer the EV9 really is,” Kia America Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Steven Center stated.

Kia’s “Opposites United” design concept is embodied in the EV9's interior, which draws inspiration from nature through innovative material choices, striking contrasts, and the interplay between people and the environment.

Aside from its state-of-the-art interior, the EV9 is also known for its strong and sophisticated exterior styling.

The vehicle’s front features the distinctive digital Tiger Face that exudes a visionary and futuristic vibe and is accentuated by the digital pattern lighting grille and eye-catching vertical headlights. It also sports the groundbreaking Star Map LED daytime running lights that produce an animated lighting pattern.

On the sides, the EV9 features a polygonal design language, which seamlessly combines a bold and unmistakable SUV identity with remarkable aerodynamic efficiency.

The tailgate, with its uncomplicated, sleek lines and exquisitely detailed slim rear lights that mimic the front lights' design, further reflects the SUV's confident attitude.

Based on the Electric Global Modular Platform, the EV9 offers a wide range of electric powertrain options. It also has vehicle-to-load and Level 3 autonomous driving capabilities.
