Kia PH confirms Sonet arrival in PH

MANILA: Following the teasers recently shared over its official Facebook page, Kia Philippines has finally confirmed the entry of the Sonet nameplate in the country.

As shared by the Ayala-led firm, the newest crossover offering has already arrived ahead of its official introduction next month.

The latest addition to the Korean automaker’s local portfolio, the Kia Sonet followed the launch of the updated Seltos in November last year. Such move, Kia Philippines shared, shows its commitment to providing “a diverse range of high-quality vehicles to the Philippine market. “

Following the announcement, the company shared that the Kia Sonet — which is eyed to tap the first-car buyers in the Philippines — is now open for pre-orders at any Kia dealers nationwide. It has an indicative price of P770,000.

“The Kia Sonet is one of the most popular models in Kia’s global lineup, and it promises to fulfill the needs of young individuals and families with its crossover credentials and rich feature set,” Kia Philippines Chief Operating Officer Brian Buendia said.

Kia Philippines has yet to share the official specifications of the soon-to-be-launched Kia Sonet in the country.

However, following the local trend, the Philippine-spec Kia Sonet might be powered by a 1.2 naturally-aspirated or 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine (banking more on the former).
