Kia PH rolls out 'Technician Boot Camp'
Comprehensive 4-month program aims to transform training in local auto industry
MANILA: Kia Philippines has launched a training program for technicians within its dealer network.

According to the Ayala-led automotive distributor, the initiative — supported by Kia headquarters — is eyed to “transform the training landscape within the automotive industry.”
Under the new program, Kia is committed to strengthening its dealership network with a new generation of expert technicians by addressing industry challenges such as training costs and technician retention.
“The Kia Technician’s Boot Camp is more than just a training program—it’s our commitment to nurturing the best talent in the industry. By equipping our technicians with advanced skills and knowledge, we’re ensuring that Kia continues to lead in providing exceptional service to our customers in the whole journey of being a Kia owner, from pre-purchase, purchase, to aftersales," Kia Philippines Chief Operating Officer Brian Buendia explained.

A total of 16 students from technical vocational automotive courses were selected to be part of its inaugural batch and will undergo a four-month program.
The first two months of the training shall be dedicated to instructor-based teaching while remaining two, through on-the-job method.
The Boot Camp’s curriculum will cover topics such as Kia’s brand values and behavior, the Technician Recognition Program (TRP) — Certified to Master level—, and TRP Electric Vehicle (EV) certification.
Kia Philippines said that those who will be able to participate will gain hands-on experience in preventive maintenance services for electric vehicles, hybrids, and internal combustion engines.
They will become proficient in using Kia Diagnostic System tools, reading workshop manuals and Electrical Troubleshooting Manuals, and navigating service portals and standard service systems.
