Kia sells 3.089-M cars globally in 2024

MANILA: Kia has managed to reach a global sales milestone of 3.089 million units for 2024. According to the South Korean car brand, the aforementioned sales figure represents another annual global record following its previous best yearly sales performance in 2023. 

To further break it down, the marque sold a total of 2.543 million vehicles outside Korea last year. In its home market, meanwhile, the car brand managed to deliver a total of 540,010 units to customers for 2024. 

When it comes to individual model performance, Kia says the Sportage topped the global sales rankings with 587,717 units sold. The said model is followed by the Seltos with 312,246 units and the Sorento with 280,705 units sold. 

The top three best-selling Kia models for 2024 are all crossovers. Regardless, the brand disclosed that other nameplates, such as the Carnival hybrid and the new K4 sedan, supported its global sales performance last year.

Apart from its 2024 global sales report, Kia has disclosed its global sales targets for 2025. For the whole year, the Seoul-headquartered automaker is looking to sell 3,216,200 units globally. The brand also expects to sell 550,000 vehicles in its home market and 2,658,000 units overseas. 

In the Philippines, Kia’s local arm has previously disclosed that it was looking to sell 8,000 units in 2024. Kia Philippines Motor Corporation has yet to reveal its sales report for last year. Still, two of its global best-selling models for the year, the Seltos and Sorento, are likewise available locally. 

The brand’s latest model for the Philippine market, however, is the EV9. 

Introduced at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show, Kia Motor Philippines’ latest ride is a fully electric model that boasts a three-row seating configuration. At maximum, its dual-motor setup can churn out 379 horsepower and 700 Newton-meters of torque. It also has a range of up to 505 kilometers, as well as a zero to 100-kilometer-per-hour sprint time of just five seconds. 

Pricing for the Philippine-spec Kia EV9 starts at P5.888 million.
