Lamborghini celebrates Huracan Sterrato launch with new streetwear capsule collection

MANILA: The first all-terrain super sports car, the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, is celebrated in a new partnership between Automobili Lamborghini and streetwear brand Rhude.

Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann and Rhude Founder and Creative Director Rhuigi Villaseor joined VIPs and tastemakers for an evening to celebrate the launch.

As a result of the partnership, a capsule collection featuring both brands' distinctive identity was unveiled in Miami during Art Basel at the Lamborghini Beach Lounge. The partnership honors the Huracan Sterrato, which also recently had its Miami debut.

The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is the first super sports car designed for maximum driving pleasure even on rough and unpaved surfaces. The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato redefines the idea of sportiness while highlighting Lamborghini's core principles of bravery, authenticity, and unpredictability.

The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato's driving characteristics have been fine-tuned for precise handling on every terrain. The improved LDVI (Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics) system in the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato includes tailored Strada and Sport calibrations and introduces the Rally mode for low-grip driving conditions.

The aggressive nature of the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is instantly evident from the exterior. The ground clearance has been increased by 44mm, while the front and rear track widths have also been extended by 30mm and 34mm, respectively, to allow for more suspension travel. The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato's muscularity is enhanced by the reinforced sills, the rear diffuser, the sturdy wheel arches, and the aluminum front underbody protection. The standard air intake on the rear hood helps provide clean air to the engine when driving on dusty roads, in addition to upgrading the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato’s athletic look.

The 5.2-liter V10 engine that powers the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato generates a maximum output of 610CV and 560Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine works along with a rear mechanical self-locking differential, an electronically controlled all-wheel drive, and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 260kph.

The interiors follow the Lamborghini Huracan line's long-standing "feel like a pilot" concept, which places the driver in the center of the cabin for the best driving experience and full control over all of the vehicle's components. The interiors are highlighted by the exclusive Alcantara Verde Sterrato upholstery.

“The Rhude x Automobili Lamborghini capsule collection has been expressly created to reflect the design innovation and cutting edge style synonymous with both our brands. This is just a taste of what’s to come,” Winkelmann stated.

Villaseor has always been interested in fast cars and motorsports. Lamborghini, in particular, has special meaning because the designer owns and drives a Lamborghini Urus, the brand's Super SUV, and lives and works in Italy, Lamborghini's home country.

Rhude is a Los Angeles-based design brand established in 2015. Its ready-to-wear collections balance luxury techniques with streetwear elements.

Rhude was conceptualized as a narrative that reflects contemporary socio-economics and personal experiences as Villaseor immigrated to Los Angeles from the Philippines at the age of 11 without any knowledge of brand culture. Rhude, which has become a recurring theme from season to season, is a visual commentary on Los Angeles fashion and culture that merges American iconography with nostalgic references.

The Rhude x Automobili Lamborghini capsule collection includes jackets, cargo pants, polo shirts, tees, flat-brimmed hats, "soft toolbox" duffels, and other items. It draws inspiration from various cues, fusing a military surplus aesthetic — with an emphasis on canvases and twills — and direct references to Lamborghini's automotive legacy, like with vent-mimicking details on the back of a half-zip anorak which are inspired by the lines on Lamborghini's original Countach model produced from 1974 to 1990, as well as those on the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato. A varsity jacket brazenly spells out "Automobili Lamborghini" over the shoulders, while an aviator jacket has patches with both Rhude and Lamborghini's logos.

The Rhude x Automobili Lamborghini capsule collection will be available on Rhude's website for a price range of $295 to $2,995 (approximately P16,000 to P166,000) starting mid-December. The collaboration will continue with Rhude's upcoming Autumn-Winter 2023 collection, which will be unveiled in Paris, France in January.
