Lamborghini Huracan Drifts with an all-new Rear Wheel Drive
MANILA: Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 as it in known will now be offered in a distinct rear wheel drive derivative, a shift from Lamborghini's all-wheel drive platform. Best for the drifters, the bad boys will surely enjoy this RWD Huracan that will give them a distinct driving experience they have never encountered before. Being as safe and sound as its all-wheel drive siblings.
The changes in the new Huracan are not just limited to its rear wheel drive shift but are well visible on the outer front too. It now gets a unique set of bumpers, curvier wheel arches housing new 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Pzero tires. Huracan LP 580-2 looks like the youngster and peppiest member of the Huracan 4WD family.
Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, summed up rear wheel drive Huracan as, "The Lamborghini Huracán LP 580-2 continues the Lamborghini tradition of pure, visionary and technology-driven models. The rear-wheel drive model fits perfectly into our Huracán family, appealing to those wanting an even more intense driving experience, or who currently drive other rear-wheel-drive marques and aspire to drive a Lamborghini. This is the purest expression of a Lamborghini to date, with class-leading technological refinements. It is a serious car for serious drivers: it is maximum driving fun.”
Changes are not limited to outer front and continue inside too with Lamborghini's latest infotainment system and 12.3-inch instrument panel.
But some things have remained same in this new Huracan, for example, its power mill. Under the bonnet, you'll find the same 5.2L V10 engine, pouring a little less power than its previous counterparts. The detuned mill now generates a maximum power of 580 PS with a peak torque of 580 Nm. Power mill comes coupled with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox that helps it to go from o-1oo km/h in 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 3120 km/h.
Apart from this, Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 also showcases good handling and environmental care. On the handling side, its optimized springs, anti-roll bars and better torsional stiffness are at work, thus making it 50% better than its predecessors. Also, Lamborghini Dynamic Steering system makes the Huracan agiler and accounts for better steering control. On the environmental front, LP 580-2 now gets cylinder deactivation, that deactivates 5 out of 10 cylinders, when not in use.
The car is now up for sale in the European market and as a surprise Huracan is now seen carrying a economical price tag than before.
