Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato debuts at Miami Art Basel

MANILA: Automobili Lamborghini unveiled the new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato at Art Basel in Miami Beach, Florida, USA. The new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is the first super sports car created for maximum driving pleasure even on loose or dirt surfaces. The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato redefines the concept of sportiness and emphasizes Lamborghini's principles of brave, authentic, and unexpected.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What powers the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato?

The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces a maximum power output of 610CV and 560Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm.
  • How many units of Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato will be produced?

Only 1,499 units of the new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato will be produced starting February 2023.
  • “True to our values as a visionary, bold and unconventional brand, with the Sterrato we are breaking new ground in driving sensations. Presenting the car at Art Basel in Miami reflects how, just like an avant-garde work of art, the Sterrato represents a radical and original interpretation of the super sports car concept but, in terms of performance, the Sterrato belongs in the world’s most dynamic and exciting driving environments,” Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stephan Winkelmann stated.

The driving capabilities of the new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato have been tuned for precise control on any surface, including paved and unpaved roads. The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato has an upgraded LDVI (Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics) system, which includes specific Strada and Sport calibrations and introduces the Rally mode for low-grip scenarios to the Lamborghini Huracan series for the first time.

“With the high-speed all-terrain concept of the Sterrato, we have uniquely combined the driving experience of a true super sports car and the fun of driving a rally car. Lamborghini cars always deliver emotion: the Sterrato delivers a new degree of driving thrills,” Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer Rouven Mohr said.

The new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato's aggressive character is instantly apparent from the outside. To enable more suspension travel, the ground clearance has been raised by 44mm in comparison to the Lamborghini Huracan EVO, and the front and rear track widths have also been widened by 30mm and 34mm, respectively. The bolstered sills, the rear diffuser, the strong wheel arches, and the aluminum front underbody protection all enhance the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato's muscularity. Aside from enhancing the model's sporty appeal, the classic air intake on the rear hood helps provide the engine with clean air when traveling on dusty roads.

“The Sterrato is testimony to how the Lamborghini design DNA works perfectly even with unexpected proportions. The Sterrato’s design translates its super sports car heritage into a new lifeform, reflecting its specific intent to deliver a truly unique and fun driving experience,” Lamborghini Design Head Mitja Borkert stated.

The new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine that produces a maximum power output of 610CV and 560Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The engine works together with the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and electronically controlled all-wheel drive with rear mechanical self-locking differential. The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato goes from 0 to 100kph in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260kph. It was built to function at its best on sandy and unpaved surfaces.

The new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is equipped with ventilated and cross-drilled carbon-ceramic discs with 380mm diameter and 38mm thickness at the the front and 356mm diameter and 32mm thickness at the rear, as well as aluminum fixed monoblock calipers with six pistons at the front and four pistons at the rear. The Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato has 19-inch rims that are fitted with specially designed Bridgestone Dueler AT002 tires, which add to the car's feeling, emotion, and fun-to-drive factor. The front tire measures 235/40 R19, while the rear tire measures 285/40 R19, and both feature run-flat technology, which ensures that the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato can travel at least 80km at 80kph with no pressure in the case of a puncture. These bespoke Bridgestone tires feature an unique pattern design and a cutting-edge compound that offer the ideal grip on both dirt and tarmac while maintaining great handling and high-speed performance. They have been designed to match 100% of the car DNA.

The interiors, highlighted by the exclusive Alcantara Verde Sterrato upholstery, adhere to the Lamborghini Huracan line's long-standing "feel like a pilot" concept, which puts the driver in the center of the cabin for the best driving experience and full control over all the elements of the vehicle. New graphics and unique driving features have been added to the Human Machine Interface (HMI), and the instruments now include a digital inclinometer with pitch and roll indicators, a compass, a geographic coordinate indicator, and a steering angle indicator.

Lamborghini Connect's on-board services include integration with Amazon Alexa, enabling drivers to operate navigation, phone calls, and entertainment with a simple voice command, as well as control settings like lighting and air-conditioning. The Lamborghini UNICA app allows for remote control of the vehicle as well as features like remote speed monitoring and sending a destination directly to the navigation system.

A connected telemetry system is included with the new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, allowing the driver to track performance and analyze data using the UNICA app. Apple Watch owners can also synchronize their heart rate data with the on-board telemetry system to gauge their driving performance. To record  driving adventures, the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato comes with the Lamborghini Drive Recorder. The most thrilling driving experiences can be documented, enhancing the Lamborghini UNICA app's Board Diaries feature.

Through the Lamborghini Ad Personam program, customers may select from 350 exterior colors and over 360 colors for the leather and Alcantara interiors for the new Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, giving them seemingly limitless options for personalizing the appearance of the vehicle.
