Land Rover rolls upgrades worth Php 1,054,000 for the Defender
MANILA: The all-new 2020 Land Rover is just around the corner, isn’t it? We have already entered the month of August and will finally see the newest iteration of the 4x4 in the flesh by next month, i.e., September 2019. Although the whole automobile universe is pretty excited for the arrival of the 2020 Defender, Land Rover has already treated the current owners of the previous Defender models with some exciting upgrades.
The American manufacturer has unveiled upgrade kits for the Defender 90/110 models that were built in and after 1994. The upgrade kits include various suspension, wheels, tyres, and engine upgrades. Courtesy of the Defender Classic Works Upgrade Kit, the 2.2-litre diesel engine available on Defenders from 2012 and later now produces 162 PS of maximum power and a peak torque of 463 Nm. The top speed has also been increased to 171 kmph thanks to the 40 PS of more power than before.
All of the Works V8 specification brake discs, pads, callipers, and the Sawtooth alloys along with a revamped suspension are part of the Defender Handling Upgrade Kit. The 18-inch Sawtooth wheels are priced at £ 432 (Php 26,800) each. Moreover, a set of four wheels with a spare gets a price tag of £ 2,160 (Php 134,000).
The whole Classic Works Upgrade Kit costs £ 17,000 (Php 1,054,000) and includes all of the wheels, tyres, brakes, suspension, and some exclusive badges. Customers who purchase the Classic Works Upgrade Kit will also be presented with an owner's certificate along with a tour of the Land Rover’s Classic Works facility in the UK or Germany.
