Lando Norris configures his own 2023 McLaren Artura supercar

MANILA: Lando Norris, McLaren Formula 1 driver, used the auto marque's online configurator to choose his 2023 McLaren Artura supercar in his dream specification.

On a Vision trim Artura, Norris decided to paint the exterior Aurora Blue. Modern and athletic, the Vision interior trims pair lighter shades of Extended Nappa Leather and Alcantara with understated, contrasting details. Norris chose bright yellow brake calipers to contrast with the gloss black, 10 Spoke Super-Lightweight Dynamo Forged Alloy Wheels, taking design cues from his signature blue and yellow helmet.

Norris has added carbon fiber exterior and interior packs to his 2023 McLaren Artura Inspired by Lando Norris, reflecting his commitment to maximum performance. The front splitter, diffuser, rear bumper, and door mirror housings are all finished in superb gloss finish visual carbon fiber as part of the exterior carbon fiber package. For an even more aggressive look, front fender louvers and an MSO (McLaren Special Operations) rear spoiler are also offered as independent options.

The carbon fiber interior pack replaces the normal Satin Black finish inside the 2023 McLaren Artura Inspired by Lando Norris. Lightweight visual carbon fiber is included on the enlarged gearshift paddles, steering wheel clasp, door switch surround, central tunnel finisher, and binnacle finisher.

The 2023 McLaren Artura is the company's first High-Performance Hybrid supercar to be produced in large quantities and is the culmination of more than 50 years of McLaren's engineering knowledge in both race and road vehicles. The Artura is the perfect "everyday driver" for a McLaren Formula 1 star because it combines exhilarating performance and driving engagement with EV driving capability.

The Artura provides consumers a wide variety of personal preference with its 34 exterior paint colors in the production paint palette, including three that are exclusive to the car at launch (Flux Green, Ember Orange, and Plateau Grey), as well as 15 that were created by McLaren Special Operations.

For requests outside of this scope, MSO provides the option to specify virtually any color as a bespoke commission. Through this service, performance, innovation, and craftsmanship come together to deliver "the art of the possible," which includes bespoke finishes, distinctive components, new materials, and more.

The automaker started from scratch with the 2023 McLaren Artura. Both the High-Performance Hybrid powertrain and the McLaren Carbon Fiber Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) at its core are brand-new. Modern aerodynamic efficiency has improved more than ever, which has helped create a fresh, elegant, basic design.

Every innovative component — from the rear suspension to the sophisticated E-differentia l— contributes to a particularly intense driving experience. It also exhibits scorching electric power and ultra-light supercar engineering. It boasts of a class-leading lightest dry weight of 3,075 lbs (around 1,400 kilograms).

The Artura represents a completely fresh version of McLaren's design aesthetic. Every curve has a purpose; it controls airflow and heat, provides an incredibly low center of gravity, and even allows for the ideal driving posture. Cutting edge carbon fiber knowledge and sophisticated methods like Superforming enable the seamless, sculpted feel.

The newest supercar delivers the highest level of driver involvement. Switches for the powertrain and handling are easily accessible thanks to the revolutionary cockpit design. The best feedback is provided by electro-hydraulic steering.

Due to the E-Motor's instant torque, the throttle response is twice as quick as that of our pure petrol vehicles, and the V6 engine easily switches over to the E-Motor to provide a torrent of power from a stop. Driver involvement is further increased by connectivity and infotainment features including updated HD touchscreens, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

A total 585ps is produced by a brand-new dual turbocharged V6 petrol engine. The 95ps E- Motor's throttle response is twice as quick and produces huge immediate torque for breathtaking acceleration for a total of 680ps of fluid performance. With 720Nm of torque, the McLaren Artura can run from standstill to 100kph in three seconds and all the way to a top speed of 330kph.

Additionally, for optimal weight distribution and protection, the Artura's energy-dense Lithium ion battery is housed low in a carbon fiber safety cell. With the capacity to charge dynamically while in motion, an 80% charge may be completed in about 2.5 hours.

As for the supercar’s other technological advancements, due to its sending sensors being in close contact with the tire itself, the Cyber Tyre offers information with more accuracy than conventional tires. As a result, data is transferred to Artura more quickly than it would be with a traditional Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), allowing for the availability of full information prior to vehicle movement.

Finally, the car acts as an F1 tire engineer, advising the driver on the ideal operating range for the specific tires installed on the vehicle because it now automatically recognizes the tire specifications it is fitting and the temperature measured, rather than the rim temperature. This gives the driver and the vehicle better control over tire pressure and enables Artura to be pushed to its limit.
