Li Auto enters PH market

MANILA: Li Auto has officially entered the Philippine market through its local arm, HomeAuto Incorporated.

In a statement, the company shared that the latest initiative of the Beijing-headquartered brand — founded in 2015 — to enter the local market showcases its commitment in expanding its reach globally and “catering to the growing demand for premium, sustainable mobility solutions.”

Its offerings, the firm noted, are meant to provide safer, more comfortable, and convenient experiences on the road for families.

Last year, the company delivered more than 500,000 units — reflecting a 33-percent growth compared to the 376,030 examples rolled out in 2023.

“We are thrilled to introduce Li Auto’s innovative smart electric vehicles to the Philippines,” said HomeAuto Incorporated Chief Executive Officer Stone Yu.

“The local market presents a significant opportunity for us with its increasing awareness of electric vehicles and interest in modern technology. Filipinos’ strong family values align perfectly with our vision so we are confident that they will appreciate the unique blend of luxury and technology that Li Auto offers.”

Initial offerings

The Chinese marque’s initial offerings in the local premium electrified vehicle market — which were displayed at SM Podium recently — are of two sport utility vehicles (SUV) namely the L7 and L9, which are both plug-in hybrid offerings.

The Li L7 is a five-seater crossover that offers a premium and cavernous interior that is mostly covered in Nappa leather.

On the other hand, the Li L9 is the marque’s full-size SUV that comes with a five-screen, three-dimensional interactive intelligent cockpit.

The aforementioned nameplates utilize a range extender configuration wherein their 1.5-liter mills act as a generator to power up the battery.

Additionally, the two models boast an advanced autonomous driving sensor system.

Future plans

Further, Li Auto Philippines Marketing Director Emmah Qiao told Zigwheels Philippines that it will bring the brand’s multi-purpose vehicle soon.

Upon checking the company website, Zigwheels Philippines learned that the minivan — to be named Li Mega — can cover 710 kms, thanks to its 102.7-kilowatt-hour battery.

Relatedly, Li Auto Philippines will soon open its flagship showroom in Bonifacio Global City.
