Lotus revealed Evora GT410, designed for everyday use

MANILA: Group Lotus PLC just unveiled a new variant of its Evora, the Lotus Evora GT410, which is basically just a minorly tweaked out GT410 Sport.

According to Gavan Kershaw, director of attributes and product integrity of Lotus, expect the new GT410 to still be “extremely stable and quick,” adding that the new variant, “is quieter on coarse surfaces and it rides ridges better, with smaller impacts. You could say it ‘breathes’ better on challenging road surfaces, which is just what you need if you drive your Evora every day.”

The 2020 Lotus Evora GT410 has an enhanced design geared towards comfort. Thus, the car comes with Sparco sports seats, air conditioning, improved door trims that now feature integrated armrests, a tailgate with a larger glass area for better rearward visibility, heated seats, more storage cubbies for practicality, cruise control, rear parking sensors, and the ubiquitous touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay.

Just like the GT410 Sport, the GT410 also gets the Red AP Racing brake calipers. However, the GT410 sport a new set of tires— an all-weather Michelin Pilot Sport 4S wrapped on 19-inch (front) and 20-inches (rear) silver or gloss black V-spoke cast alloy wheels. They also put more insulation to minimize road noise and the damper tune modified by Kershaw for added comfort when driving.

On the outside, the Lotus Evora remains virtually the same except for the roof that is now body-colored, as are the side sills, tailgate, front access panel and side mirror caps. Lotus also added new color options alongside the existing palette.

Under the hood, the Evora GT410 shares the same engine as the GT410 Sport—a Toyota-sourced supercharged 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine that delivers a maximum of 410 hp of output and 400 Nm of peak torque with drive sent to the rear wheels. The engine is mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission but there is a 6-speed automatic option. This Lotus ‘everyday’ supercar can go from zero to 100 kmph in just 4.2 seconds for the manual or 4.1 seconds for the automatic at a top speed of 298 kmph for the manual and 278 kmph for the auto.

And since the GT410 is marketed for everyday use, it carries a price tag of about Php 5.548 million (£82,900), a cool Php 200,000 (£3,000) less than the GT 410 Sport. More details on both cars will be released by Lotus in the coming weeks.
