LTFRB allows hatchback and sub-compacts for TNVS
MANILA: Following the issuance of Department Order No. 2019-013 by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) started allowing hatchbacks and sub-compacts cars for Transportation Network Vehicle Services (TNVS). The Department of Transportation (DOTr) issued the order in July, earlier this year.
More good news coming stated that the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will continue to allow the hatchbacks and sub-compacts to operate in Transportation Network Vehicle Services (TNVS). The agency has approved another 10,000 new TNVS applications and ordered the Technical Division to accept more TNVS applications.
"The LTFRB would like to assure the public on the implementation of Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 2019-042 Amending MC 2018-005 by Virtue of Department Order (DO) 2019-013 (Re: An Order Amending DO 2017-011 Allowing Hatchbacks and Sub-Compacts Units to Operate as Transportation Network Vehicle Services)", cited the agency.
As we all know, hatchback and sub-compact cars were not allowed for Transportation Network Vehicle Services (TNVS) until the Department Order No. 2019-013 was issued by the Department of Transportation (DOTr). Courtesy of the new law, not only the customers will now have more options to choose from but also the owners of hatchbacks and sub-compact cars will be able to benefit from Transportation Network Vehicle Services (TNVS).
"The LTFRB remains committed to its mandate of ensuring safe, comfortable and reliable transportation to Filipinos through the implementation of its rules and regulations and the conduct of transparent and accountable service to the public", the LTFRB added.
