LTO announces DL renewal schedule, to commence after Holy Week
Driver's license renewal to begin in April 15
MANILA: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced the driver’s license renewal schedule following the lifting of the injunction order of the Court of Appeals (CA).

According to the agency, at least one million pieces of plastic cards were delivered to the LTO Central Office on Monday.Per the agency, the completion of the schedule is in compliance to the directive of LTO Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II that will help motorists claim their plastic-printed driver’s licenses starting next week.
“This is the order of our Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista that there should be good news that our clients will return after their long vacation,” Mendoza noted.
“So I have already instructed our officials down to the regional level to prepare this list of schedules and finish it before Maundy Thursday. Our goal is to start the distribution process of the plastic-printed driver’s license next week,” he added.
Approved renewal schedules
According to the LTO, drivers with licenses that have expired in April 1-August 31, 2023 and those with licenses that will this comung April 1-30 are scheduled to renew their licenses from April 15-30.
Meanwhile, drivers whose licenses have expired in September 1-December 31, 2023 and those with licenses which will expire from May 1-31, 2024, are scheduled to renew their licenses from May 1-31, 2024.
Further, drivers with licenses that have expired in January 1-March 31, 2024 and will expire on June 1-30, 2024 can renew their licenses from June 1-30.
At least one million pieces of plastic cards were delivered to the LTO Central Office on Monday, March 25, after the CA ruled in favor of the DOTr and the LTO.
On top of that, he agency is expecting the delivery of some 3.2 million plastic cards, which will allow the LTO to narrow the backlog gap of driver’s licenses.
