LTO summons ex-employee over viral road rage incident
MANILA: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has summoned its former employee who allegedly bullied a delivery rider over a traffic misunderstanding in Bulacan.

“As soon as I watched the video, I immediately instructed the Regional Director of LTO-Region 3 to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, especially that there was an allegation that the motorist involved is connected with the LTO,” LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor Mendoza II stated.
He also ordered LTO Region 3 Director Ronnie Montejo to make sure that Glean will not be hired by the office again, especially after he learned that the suspect was appealing to return to his previous job.
“Hindi natin palalampasin ang ganitong klaseng asal sa daan. Tama lang na natanggal sa LTO ang taong ito dahil hindi ganitong ugali ang inaasahan ng ating mga kababayan sa aming mga taga-LTO (We will not tolerate this kind of behavior on the road. It is right that this person was removed from the LTO because this is not the behavior that our countrymen expect from our LTO personnel),” Mendoza said.
The initial investigation revealed that Glean was allegedly armed and had grabbed and thrown the rider's phone to the ground. The former LTO employee departed after the argument, leaving the upset rider sitting on the side of the road. After the incident, the rider asked help from police officers near the area.
Mendoza guaranteed that the legal actions regarding the driver’s license of Glean and the registration of the vehicle involved in the incident will be conducted in accordance with due process.
