Maserati Philippines showcased its Trinity At 2016 MIAS
MANILA: With the Manila International Auto Show having opened its gates on the 7th of April at the World Trade Centre in the capital city of the country, visitors have been given a chance to get hands-on experience of many prominent cars in the market. But one of the most important brands that attracted eyeballs at the expo was the Italian luxury supercar maker, Maserati. Maserati Philippines had set up a specially designed track in the front lawn of MIAS Venue, which was used to demonstrate the superb road handling characteristics of Maserati cars. The Italian brand showcased its holy trinity at this slalom course at MIAS 2016.
Maserati Ghibli
Ghibli is the most recently unveiled sedan in Maserati's global portfolio. Though the Ghibli moniker had a couple of different outings under the Maserati's umbrella, the latest one is the most intense of them all. Originally revealed at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show, the Ghibli is a revolutionary car even for Maserati's status. It is the first Maserati production car ever made, that is powered by a diesel workhorse. Under the hood, the Maserati Ghibli gets three engine options, a 3.0-litre V6 petrol that is available in two output state of tunes (330 hp and 400 hp), while the debutant turbocharged diesel is tuned to exhale 271 hp of power.
Maserati GranTurismo
While the GranTurismo was originally revealed in 2007, its open top version came to the market three years later in the name of GranCabrio. But the hard-top GranTurismo still manages to rule the hearts of petrol heads. This two-door coupe is the perfect combination of a beautiful body shell and a potent engine under its skin. Maserati GranTurismo engine list consists of a 4.7-litre V8 engine, that is capable of churning out 434 hp of power and a peak torque of 490 Nm.
Maserati Quattroporte GTS
The Quattroporte has been Maserati's longest-running nameplate. Originally launched back in the year 1963, the Quattroporte badge got its sixth generation in 2013. And in its all new avatar, this Maserati sedan manages to depict the brand's legacy and heritage, while accommodating all necessary future-driven technologies that have become a basic essential in the current automotive industry. Dimensionally, the sixth-gen Quattroporte is larger than any of its predecessors, and thus enjoys an unprecedented level of road presence. The model that has been showcased at the Italian supercar maker's booth at the MIAS 2016 is a Quattroporte GTS, which is powered by a 3.8-litre V8 engine, that is capable of exhaling 530 hp of power and a peak torque rated at 650 Nm. This powering mechanism can propel the Quattroporte from 0-100 kmph in just 4.7 seconds, before hitting a top whack of 307 kmph.
Company officials present at the venue claimed that the company is expecting to gain market share after its presence at MIAS, since the cars they manufacture are the best offerings in their respective price brackets. Maserati has always been famous for developing cars that can be used as a daily commuter due to their practicality factor while the immensely potent engine comes into its own as soon as the throttle is dabbed. Hence, Maserati cars are the best option for people who wish to have some fun with their vehicles, but at the same time don’t want their car to just be a weekend leisure ride.
Maserati is also expected to soon launch the Levante SUV, which will mark the Italian marque’s debut entry into the SUV segment. The Maserati Levante was recently unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in March and is already put on sale in the US.
