The Maserati MC20 and MC20 race car, Grecale, and Project24 will use the V6 Nettuno mill. The genuine icon of the trident brand, the GranTurismo exudes an irresistible energy. With a small group of Maserati Family personnel behind the wheel, the high-performance coupé has already covered many miles.
A unique livery on the 2023 Maserati GranTurismo conveys just one key message: the return of a Maserati icon developed 75 years ago.
The livery is reminiscent of the revolutionary Maserati A6 1500, which launched an entirely new class of automobile. It would later inspire subsequent generations of Maserati road cars as well as the global automotive environment.
The GranTurismo is a high-performance car that is built entirely in Italy and is ideal for long distances and comfortable trips.
According to Maserati, the concept first emerged following World War II, amid the Italian economic boom, when the country displayed to the world its exceptional products, strength, optimism, and carefree attitude as well as its willingness to work hard but also to have fun.
A new notion of luxury mobility, capable of fusing performance and comfort, was seen to be unachievable at that crucial period, but Maserati managed to solve it.
Because of its distinct aesthetic and intrinsic tendency for innovation, the new Maserati GranTurismo generation is now poised to lead the company into the future.
The brand's MC20 super sports car made its stunning premiere up the hill in the Supercar Run at last year's Festival of Speed — showcasing the new Maserati Nettuno engine for the first time. The Grecale, the automaker's latest SUV, inherits this engine, continuing to represent a new era for Maserati.
With a top speed of over 202 mph and the first Maserati made with a carbon fiber monocoque, the Maserati MC20 coupe is the Trident brand's first mid-engine two-seater super sports vehicle. As a result of the advanced chassis, it weighs a total of 1,500 kilograms
Astonishing acceleration and top speed are achieved — with a zero-to-62mph (100kph) duration of 2.8 seconds using this combination and the potent Nettuno engine, which is derived from F1.
Next to use the Nettuno engine is the Project24, Maserati's next exclusive, track-only machine. Only 62 super sports cars will be produced as part of a project (known only by its codename) to increase the brand's "limitless" performance to a new degree of exhilaration on the track.
The Project24's 740hp, three-liter, V6 engine features the Maserati Twin Combustion (MTC) Twin Spark with TJI double combustion control and dry sump. The engine is mated to a six-speed sequential racing gearbox that sports paddle shifters, racing clutch, and limited-slip self-locking mechanical differential for the rear-wheel drive.
Complying with FIA regulations, the Maserati Project24 is equipped with an FIA-homologated FT3 120-liter fuel tank, and FIA-spec fire extinguisher with safety roll cage.
The new Maserati car will have a goal weight of less than 1,250 kilograms to fit the brand's concern with lightness. With the ideal balance of output and lightweight, an amazing vehicle with a power-to-weight ratio of roughly 1.69 kg/hp is produced.
The goal weight will come from the carbon-fiber bodywork with specific components in natural fibers, which is matched with high-performance aerodynamics and a multi-adjustable front and rear wing. An ultra-light carbon fiber central monocoque is also a highlight of the chassis.
Aside from standard six-point racing harnesses and adjustable anti-roll bars and dampers, the Maserati Project24 will come with optional extras to enhance its track-driving experience. These include telemetry recording, in-car camera for video recording, dash and data acquisition system, and driving performance optimization display.
Another significant development in Maserati's motorsport plan is the MC20, which will compete in the Fanatec GT2 European Series Championship starting in 2023. The MC20 was developed from the start with the goal of reviving the Trident brand in closed-wheel contests.
That GT2 race car is the MC20 GT2 which will be available from Maserati to its clients and teams.
The road variant, on which the MC20 GT2 is based, is where it gets its best-in-class features. These include the cutting-edge Maserati Twin Combustion (MTC) Nettuno engine, the double-wishbone suspension with virtual steering axis, and the carbon fiber monocoque.
Powering the MC20 GT2 is a three-liter V6 engine that features two turbos, as well as the Maserati Twin Combustion (MTC) Twin Spark with TJI double combustion control and dry sump.
The engine is mated to a six-speed sequential racing gearbox that sports paddle shifters, racing clutch, and limited-slip self-locking mechanical differential for the rear-wheel drive.
