Releases limited-run MX-5 to showcase partnership

Mazda PH to distribute Autoexe parts, accessories

MANILA: Mazda Philippines will soon be the authorized distributor of Autoexe tuning parts and accessories in the country.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How much is the Mazda MX-5 Autoexe Edition?

The Mazda MX-5 Autoexe Edition is priced at P2.2 million.
  • How many Mazda MX-5 Autoexe Edition units will be retailed in the Philippines?

Mazda Philippines will produce five MX-5 Autoexe Edition examples.
  • The Japanese automaker’s arm in the country made the claim after it revealed a special-edition Mazda MX-5 Autoexe Edition to mark the start of the partnership between the two marques.

“Mazda has always prided itself in building cars that create a lasting, almost inseparable bond with its owner. Today, we are proud to announce that we are bringing in Autoexe to the Philippines. We see this as the next step to offer more to our customers, and of course, to Mazda enthusiasts,” Mazda Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Steven Tan was quoted as saying.

Per Mazda Philippines, the limited-run Autoexe edition of the MX-5 shall only have five units and will be retailed for P2.2 million per example.

Based on the MX-5 2.0L Skyactiv MT with a black top and black leather interior, the aforementioned offering is fitted with Autoexe parts (valued at more than P115,000 and installed at no extra cost to customers).

The limited-run Mazda MX-5 Autoexe Edition package is made up of a tower brace set, member brace set, manual transmission shift knob, and carbon key cover — all completed by a special Autoexe badge.

An evolved tower bar thanks to its three-dimensional structure, the Autoexe tower brace set’s layout distributes energy evenly while doubling the rigidity of the front and rear suspension — resulting in increased agility and steering response.

On the other hand, the Autoexe member brace set is considered a lower arm bar’s advance version. The said portion covers a wider area (instead of only directly connecting the left and right sides) and suppresses the body’s twisting motion.

Meanwhile, the Autoexe shift knob is made from genuine leather with red stitching hand-sewn by professional craftsmen. It also comes with a black alumite logo plate with a laser-printed logo.

Finally, there is the Autoexe carbon key cover. Made of dry carbon, it is produced with the same autoclave method used for making racing car bodies. Etched with the Autoexe logo, it fits the MX-5’s standard advanced key.

Founded by Yojiro Terada, the Japanese-based tuning and parts manufacturer that specializes in Mazda vehicles.

A Mazda works driver, Terada (known as “Japan’s Mr. Le Mans,”) has had the most appearances at the world-famous endurance race. With his racing experience, he has treated the Circuit de la Sarthe, where the race is held annually, as a development ground.
