MANILA: Mazda announced that the sales of the Mazda6 will be discontinued in Japan.

According to the carmaker, the CX series models will take the place of the Mazda6 after its discontinuation.Per the carmaker, Mazda6 will be succeeded by the CX series wagons for the Japanese domestic market.
“Successive Atenzas and Mazda6s have been loved by many customers for a long time, with a cumulative total of 226,437 units sold in Japan . The CX series of wagons will take over this role, and we will continue to deliver a lively experience to our customers through driving pleasure that is in tune with the times,” Mazda Executive Officer in Charge of Domestic Sales Kazuyoshi Todo said in a statement.
Production of the Mazda6 will only be up until April 2024.
In the Philippines, Mazda has been selling some of its CX series models. They include the CX-3, CX-30, CX-5, CX-8, CX-9, CX-60, and the CX-90.
