Meet the 2020 Toyota Corolla kitted up with TRD & Modellista kits

MANILA: Talk about promptness and TRD along with Modellista would be among two of the top contenders for the championship. Soon after the introduction of the Japan-spec 2020 Toyota Corolla in its homeland, the two in-house tuners, TRD and Modellista have unveiled their body kits and other accessories for the newest iteration of the much-proclaimed sedan.

Unlike the Philippines, where we get the "Prestige" model of the sedan, Toyota has decided to offer the sporty variant in Japan. Another difference that is pretty obvious to be noticed is the presence of "C" badge on the Japan-spec Toyota Corolla instead of the conventional Toyota logo.

Starting with the TRD's kit for the sedan, the kit vaunts red accents and along with a slim front chin that enhance the sporty quotient. Moving on, the kit by TRD also equips the new Corolla with side skirts that probably improve the aerodynamic performance of the car.

Sleek multispoke alloy wheels clothed with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres and bumper corner spoilers complete the kit. Unlike other kits that have limited aesthetic updates only, the TRD kit also brings along a short-throw shift kit that further enhances the sedan's manual gearbox. Also, the kit maker has installed chassis braces which improve the sedan's handling.

Moving on to the Modellista kit, the sporty quotient drops down in favour of more chrome and a sophisticated appearance. The kit flaunts chrome from head to toe starting from the front bumper kit with chrome on its apron to the front grille garnish, side skirts with chrome trims, and the chrome door handles and side mirrors.

The Japan-spec 2020 Toyota Corolla kitted with Modellista's kit rides on 18-inch alloy wheels that come wearing high-performance rubbers. Surprisingly, Modellista has left the rear end of the sedan untouched. On the inside, the Modellista kit offers either brushed aluminium or wood grain effect on the dashboard.

Moreover, the lighting inside can be replaced with LEDs. Another interesting addition is the courtesy lights which illuminates the ground while the doors are open. Lastly, the kit also equips the sedan with kick plates which can be availed in one of the black, white, and silver finishes. While we are aware of the fact that these kits won't be offered in the Philippines, it will be great if the Toyota Philippines can bring in the Altis GR for the Filipinos.
