Meet the all-new Honda Jazz Crosstar, an edgier Jazz

MANILA: After a long wait that included the emergence of various spy shots, leaks, and whatnot, Honda recently brought out the 2020 Jazz at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. But, the 2020 Jazz is now not just another hatch and the company brings along another model which attains a quite different guise than the standard hatchback. Called the Honda Jazz Crosstar, the crossover-like avatar of the all-new Jazz is offered in the UK.

What makes the Honda Jazz Crosstar unique and alluring is the brand-new design philosophy that it follows. The Japanese automaker has taken inspiration from everyday life and objects and coined the design philosophy "Yoo no bi". According to Honda, there is beauty in everyday things, and this beauty further enhances itself with the passage of time. The Honda Jazz Crosstar flaunts a dual-tone appearance with a long roof-line, increased ride height, water-resistant upholstery, short nose, black cladding all-around, two-tone roof rails, and a sporty shark fin antenna.

The man behind the design of the all-new Jazz is Baek Jongkuk, and thanks to his expertise, the revisited hatchback now looks all that more enticing. Moreover, other elements on the outside include a bold front grille, black trim pieces, side sills, and C-pillars with a unique surface. LED lighting, maximum utilisation of space inside the cabin, combination lights at the rear, fresh ultra-thin A-pillars, large 9-inch LCD touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay connectivity and other elements make sure that the new Jazz is a car that belongs to 2020.

On the mechanical front, the Honda Jazz Crossstar gets a two-motor hybrid powertrain as standard and sports "EV-like" driving dynamics. Thanks to the new powertrain, the new Jazz will be the first car in Europe to flaunt the "e:HEV" badge.

As for the safety of the passengers both inside and outside of the new Jazz ad Jazz Crosstar. Honda has equipped the hatch with various modern-day safety features like multiple SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, collision mitigation brake system, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and a high-definition camera with a wide-angle view. Also, the new Jazz gets the latest generation of Honda SENSING driver assistance and safety features.
