Meet the stunning looking Acura Type S Concept
MANILA: As if their sales and popularity were not enough, automobile manufacturers like Nissan and Honda have separate luxury arms of themselves. While Nissan deals in Lexus and Infiniti, Honda, on the other hand, is known for the Acura portfolio. As we are addressing an Acura concept today, let's talk more about the Honda's luxury division. In various automobiles markets around the globe, Acura sells some amazing vehicles like the RLX, MDX, TLX, and many more. Besides that, Acura has unveiled its latest concept vehicle, the Type S.
The Acura Type S Concept is essentially a preview of what's next in store for the markets where Acura offers its cars. The sensuous and sporty sedan is expected to take on the likes of the Lexus IS and Infiniti Q50. Yes, the Infiniti Q50 is the same car that is sold as the Nissan Skyline in Japan. And, if the reports are true enough, the Acura Type S Concept should lay the foundation for the next-gen Acura TLX. The current-gen Acura TLX comes with two different engine options, a 3.5-litre V6, and a 2.4-litre four-pot.
Having a closer look at the Acura Type S Concept, the sporty sedan features a pair of slim and intrusive looking LED headlamps. Then we have the Acura's trademark broad and upside-down hexagonal grille. The front bumper houses large air intakes on each of the corners.
Moving at the rear, we find slim wrap-around C-shaped LED taillamps, dual exhaust outlets on both ends, and a contrasting boot lip spoiler. The side profile of the Acura Type S Concept is dominated by subtle yet expressive character lines and a shoulder line that emerges from the front quarter panels and fades out at the rear quarter panels.
The powertrain on the Acura Type S Concept's final production model is said to incorporate a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 motor, which will produce well over 300 hp of maximum power. We want Honda to introduce its luxury division here in the Philippine as well, how about you? More options and increased competition have always been better for both the automakers and the customers, right?
