MANILA: Mercedes-Benz Philippines, under the distributorship of Inchcape Philippines, has launched the all-new fully-electric EQE Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) for the local market.

The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ AMG has an introductory price of P7.190 million in the Philippines.The all-new EQE SUV’s entry into the Philippines follows the brand’s introduction of the Mercedes-Benz EQA, EQB, EQE sedan, and EQS electric vehicles (EV). As such, the German marque now has another weapon in the country’s ever-growing EV market.
Exterior
On the outside, the EQE SUV features a sleek signature look, just like other models in the German luxury carmaker’s EQ lineup.
Up front, the all-new mid-size SUV EV gets a closed-off grille, which is made appealing by the unmistakable EQ star pattern design. The latter is flanked by sizable LED headlamp clusters. Below meanwhile, is a shapely lower front bumper housing a curvy air-intake vent.
Towards the side of the EQE SUV is a sloping roofline combined with a mostly slick and smooth side portion. The latter doesn’t get a lick of character lines, but like most SUV and crossovers in the market, it sports black plastic claddings.
The all-new EV's rear, meanwhile, showcases an LED taillight bar and a quiet-looking AMG-specific lower rear bumper.
Other notable features on the Philippine-spec EQE SUV include a pair of power-folding side mirrors, a power tailgate, a set of 21-inch AMG wheels, automatic functionality for its LED headlamps, and rain-sensing wipers, among others.
Size-wise, the all-new EQE SUV is 4,863-millimeters long, 2,141-mm wide, and 1,685-mm in height. It also has a wheelbase spanning 3,030-mm.
Interior
Inside, the all-new EQE offers ample space for up to five occupants. Its cabin features many soft-touch leather surfaces, while its dash features an eye-catching sloped design housing circular vents for its multi-zone automatic air-conditioning system.
Integrated with the EQE SUV EV's dashboard is a 12.8-inch OLED Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment touchscreen. The said screen features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity, while a 15-piece Burmester 3D sound system feeds sound to the cabin. The new model also boasts several USB ports and a wireless smartphone charging pad.
The SUV in question also provides a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster for the driver. The said cluster can display basic driving parameters and the status of the vehicle’s numerous safety features. The latter goes along with the vehicle’s push-to-start button, cruise control system, tilt & telescopic leather steering wheel, etc.
Likewise present is electronic adjustability for the heated and ventilated front seats, massage functionality for the seats, a panoramic sunroof, active LED ambient lighting, and a lot of storage cubby holes.
With the rear seats up, the EQE SUV's default cargo capacity is 580 liters. With the latter folded down, the model can swallow up to 1,675 liters of cargo.
Engine
Propelling the Philippine-spec EQE SUV is an electric motor capable of dishing out 292 horsepower and 565 Newton Meters of torque.
The fully electric Mercedes-Benz has a range of up to 628 kilometers, as indicated by the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP). Keeping the vehicle topped on power, meanwhile, is done through a Type 2/CCS port with an AC charging capability of up to 22 kilowatts and DC charging of up to 120 kW.
Safety
For safety, the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV has numerous features, such as dual front airbags, side-front airbags, curtain airbags, knee airbags, anti-lock braking, stability control, rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child seat anchors, a 360-degree view camera, and many others.
A suite of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) reinforces the safety features mentioned above. The said ADAS suite includes active lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, parking assist, the Speedtronic adaptive cruise control, active brake assist, and driver attention warning.
Plus, the EQE SUV gets the German carmaker’s 360-degree Vehicle Guard system, which offers all-around security for the vehicle.

The said model has a total of 10 color options to choose from, such as Black, Emerald Green, High-tech Silver, Obsidian Black, Polar White, Selenite Grey, Sodalite Blue, Velvet Brown, Manufaktur Alpine Grey Solid, and Manufaktur Opalite White Bright.
