MIAS 2024: JMC PH formally launches Vigus, Grand Avenue

MANILA: JMC (Jiangling Motors Corporation) Philippines has formally launched its two pickup truck offerings at the ongoing Manila International Show (MIAS) 2024.

Per JMC Philippines, the two groundbreaking pickups are set to shake up the industry, promising elevated driving experiences. In addition, the Astara-led Chinese auto brand looks to present Filipino drivers with an immersive blend of top-notch quality and exceptional service.

JMC Vigus

The JMC Vigus is touted as a capable workhorse suited to cater to the needs of various fleet owners and operators.

Under its hood is a 4D25 2.5 turbo diesel engine mated to a manual transmission. The said setup makes as much as 128 horsepower with 315 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque.

Other notable features of the JMC Vigus include its striking headlamps complementing its simple yet stylish front grille, body-colored side mirrors with black accents, black door handles, and spacious truck bed. It also gets a simple interior that leans towards utility and longevity.

It is offered in two variants: 4X2 MT and 4X4 MT. They are priced at P959,000 and P1.11 million, respectively.

JMC Grand Avenue

The JMC Grand Avenue, on the other hand, is offered as a lifestyle pickup truck for customers in the market for a passenger vehicle.

Revealed to be the biggest model in its class, the JMC Grand Avenue boasts a turbocharged PUMA 2.3-liter powerplant mated to either a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission system. It is said to be the only pickup truck in the segment that comes out of the factory with a ZF eight-speed transmission unit.

Power figures range of the truck is at 174 horses with 450Nm of pulling power.

The JMC Grand Avenue wears a pair of boxy headlamps, a wide and muscular grille, large step boards, and a solid-looking tailgate. Inside are leather upholstery, a digital instrument cluster, and a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto.

Its suite of safety technologies include an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, electronic stability control, brake assist, hill descent control, a traction control system, and a reverse camera.

The JMC Grand Avenue is offered in four variants:

• 4X2 MT: P1.221 million
• 4X4 MT: P1.364 million
• 4X2 AT: P1.426 million
• 4X4 AT: P1.569 million

The JMC Vigus and Grand Avenue both come with lifetime engine warranties.
