Michelin unveils much-improved tire for light commercial vehicles
MANILA: France-headquartered international tire maker Michelin today unveiled through an online virtual event its all-new Michelin Agilis 3 tire.
The Michelin Agilis 3 was developed to promote sustainable mobility that is safe, efficient, accessible, and environment-friendly. The leading tire company ensures that its products last long and keep their performance throughout its lifecycle.
The new tire model is specialized for light commercial vehicles like vans and pickup trucks. Michelin, through its officials, said it witnessed how the current pandemic affected small, medium, and large enterprises. The Agilis 3 was developed to efficiently help the industry when it comes to people and goods transportation activities.
As 97% of the Micheiln Agilis 3 units are sourced within the Asia Pacific, Michelin guarantees efficient on-demand delivery service, with lower shipment charges. Additionally, the tire model was specifically designed to endure the common road challenges in the region.
Since air pollution is considered as one of the greatest human health risks, Michelin also developed the Agilis 3 as a greener solution to help in saving the environment and reducing costs.

The Michelin Agilis 3 features six key technologies: including innovative an innovative compound, stone ejectors, sidewall shields, U-shape grooves, full-depth sipes, and undertread. These were integrated to the tire to achieve better wet grip, improved mileage performance, and sustainability.
The three key benefits of the new Agilis 3 were also enumerated in the event. First, it provides 5% shorter wet braking distance (1.9 meters) when new and 11% (3.8 meters) shorter when worn. Moreover, the Agilis 3 was crafted to deliver superior mileage performance, lasting 25% longer than the previous generation. Lastly, it provides a 12% improved rolling resistance which results in lower fuel consumption and saves up to 4,570kg of CO2 emission.
The Michelin Agilis 3 can be availed at any Michelin authorized commercial light truck dealership nationwide. The price ranges from P3,000 to P10,000 depending on the size. The available tire sizes in the country are listed below:
