Mitsubishi to launch next-gen Montero Sport in 2025?

MANILA: According to production forecast by Australian motoring news site Drive, the next generation of the Mitsubishi Montero Sport will be released in 2025, or approximately 12 months after the next-generation Mitsubishi Strada.

According to information obtained by Drive, the next-gen Mitsubishi Montero Sport will hit global Mitsubishi showrooms by the end of 2024 or the early 2025, assuming no unexpected delays.

This indicates that the next-generation Mitsubishi Montero Sport will arrive about a year after the next-generation Mitsubishi Strada, which is expected to be unveiled later this year and arrive in showrooms until early 2024.

Although there are few specifics about the next-generation Mitsubishi Mitsubishi Sport, it is speculated that it will draw extensively from the Mitsubishi Strada, with which it shares many of its mechanical parts and foundations.

With the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, the next-generation Mitsubishi Strada is being developed alongside the next-generation Nissan Navara.

Twinning the Mitsubishi and Nissan pickup trucks might result in the formation of a similar collaborative development initiative for the Mitsubishi Montero and the next-generation Nissan Terra.

It is also expected that the next-generation Mitsubishi Montero Sport will get major updates in terms of comfort, safety, technology, and on- and off-road performance.

The current Mitsubishi Montero Sport is one of the oldest models in its segment, being released in the local market in 2016.
