MANILA: The Mitsubishi Xforce received five-star rating from the New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries (ASEAN NCAP).

    Under the evaluation's 2021–2025 protocol (released August 5, 2024) , Mitsubishi’s newest offering got an overall of 79.15 points — scoring 34.89 in adult occupant protection, 17.03 in child occupant protection, 14.85 in safety assist, and 12.39 in motorcyclist safety.

    The assessment program noted that the vehicle comes with various safety features as standard fitment in all its variants comprising four airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic stability control, seatbelt reminder system for frontal and rear seats occupants, as well as pedestrian protection technology.

    In addition, the vehicle is equipped (either as standard or optional) with autonomous emergency braking (city and inter-urban), blind spot detection, forward collision warning, and auto high beam.

    “Mitsubishi has indeed poured their commitment by ensuring that the model provides the necessary protection to both the occupants and other road users. With the 5-Star rating under its belt, ASEAN NCAP is proud that Mitsubishi has joined in our aspiration to ensure safe mobility for all,” the organization noted in a statement.

    Initially revealed in the country in the form of the XFC Concept in mid-2023, the Philippine-spec all-new Xforce signaled the brand’s re-entry in the local compact crossover market.
