More than 532,221 Subaru cars produced globally in Jan.-July 2024

MANILA: Subaru has built a total of 532,221 cars worldwide in the first seven months of 2024. The Japanese carmaker revealed the aforementioned through its latest sales, production, and export report. 

Out of its cumulative global production figure for the January-July 2024 period, 315,268 units were produced by the company’s Japan-based manufacturing facilities. A total of 216,953, meanwhile, were built in Subaru’s plants abroad. 

For July 2024 alone, the Shibuya-headquartered carmaker produced 80,611 vehicles worldwide. In the same month, 61,585 units rolled off the brand’s Japanese factories, while 19,026 units were made in other territories around the world. 

In terms of year-on-year changes, its global production improved by 0.3 percent. Notably, its overseas product saw an increase of 12.8 percent, but its domestic production fell by -6.8 percent. 

Concerning exports, Subaru has shipped a total of 255,518 units from its domestic manufacturing facilities from January-July 2024. The aforementioned is equivalent to a -7.4 percent year-on-year change. In the month of July 2024 specifically, the marque exported 51,705 vehicles. 

As a side note, the manufacturer also saw 59,061 vehicles sold in Japan for the January-July 2024 period. Out of the said figure, 5,376 were mini or “kei class” vehicles, while 53,685 were regular passenger cars. 

In the local market, available Subaru models include the Evoltis, Outback, Crosstrek, Forester, BRZ, WRX, and WRX Wagon. 

The brand’s latest products in the Philippine market are the Subaru Crosstrek GT Edition and Outback XT Touring, which were launched at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show. Both vehicles feature additional exterior upgrades, and they are currently priced at P2.088 million and P2.88 million, respectively.
