MPT South relaunches ‘Safe Trip Mo, Sagot Ko’ program for ‘Undas’
MANILA: As cemeteries reopen for this year's Undas week, Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), prepares for the anticipated surge in traffic during the observance of All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

“This year’s celebration of Undas season will be different from the past two years as cemeteries, especially in Metro Manila, now reopen and more motorists are expected to ply the roads. We are anticipating as much as 10% increase in the volume of vehicles that will pass through our toll roads from October 28 to November 2, 2022,” MPT South President and General Manager Raul Ignacio stated.
The MPT South toll roads offer free towing to the nearest exit for Class 1 vehicles in need of assistance starting today until November 2 at 6 a.m. To guarantee smooth traffic, 24-hour motorist assistance will be provided, and traffic operations staff will be deployed more widely on the ground and at toll plazas. The RFID health check, installation, and reloading will be available around-the-clock at Cavitex Customer Service Centers. To accommodate seasonal travelers without RFID, more cash lanes will be opened.
Emergency medical services, incident response teams, and towing services will be put on high alert.
MPT South's Facebook and Twitter pages as well as its hotline 1-35000 will be available 24/7 to accommodate customer needs. MPTC's all-in-one MPT DriveHub app will support SMSK program as well by offering 24/7 traffic updates, easy access to RFID transactions, reloading, trip planning, and emergency roadside assistance.
“Apart from our initiatives to our commitment to advocating road safety this long weekend for Undas 2022, we also continue to remind our motorists to always check the handy mnemonic BLOWBAGETS before hitting the road. It stands for Battery, Lights, Oil, Water, Brakes, Air, Gas, Engine, Tire, and Self. We also encourage our motorists to use the MPT DriveHub app to check on traffic conditions and top-up their load for a more seamless travel,” Ignacio added.
Aside from CALAX, Cavitex, and Cavitex C5 Link, MPTC also owns the concessions for North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), NLEX Connector Road, Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), and Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX).
