New Elantra hatchback is first to use Hyundai 8-speed DCT in Europe
MANILA: Hyundai Motor is teasing the new-look Elantra hatchback, also known as the i30 in other markets, with an updated exterior and a new high-performance eight-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission).
Seen on the photo are aggressive-looking front and rear bumpers, two large exhaust pipes, a wide center grille with the N signature, and new rear lamps and new LED headlamps with V-shaped DRLs. Noticeable as well are newly-developed 19-inch forged alloy wheels.
More than the aesthetic upgrades, the Korean automaker is quite proud about the fact that this will be the first model in Europe to ever use Hyundai’s eight-speed DCT, which comes with dedicated N performance shifting functions.
Other details about the new Elantra hatchback will be revealed closer to the launch date.
