MANILA: Hyundai has launched a marketing campaign for the all-new, all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 6 with the theme “It’s Time to Go Electric.”

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How fast is the charging time of Hyundai Ioniq 6?

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 can charge from 10% to 80% in as fast as 18 minutes using a 350kW, 800V DC ultra-fast charger.
  • When will the Hyundai Ioniq 6 go on sale?

Hyundai Ioniq 6 will arrive in US dealerships in March 2023.
  • The campaign includes broadcast and social media advertisements featuring Kevin Bacon and his daughter Sosie. The first commercial aired at the professional football’s conference championship games on Sunday, January 29.

“With the introduction of the Ioniq 6, Hyundai is once again making the electric vehicle lifestyle more accessible and convenient than ever before. If you are someone on the fence of going electric, we hope this campaign starring Kevin and Sosie Bacon will show how early adopters, at any stage in their life, can easily make the switch,” Hyundai Motor America Chief Marketing Officer Angela Zepeda stated.

Kevin and Sosie are shown driving his new all-electric Hyundai Ioniq 6 in the 60- and 30-second hero spots titled “Your Dad Is Going Electric.” The advertisements humorously depict the close bond between a father and daughter by demonstrating that even her “older” and less tech-savvy father has embraced electric vehicles before other customers.

They portray Kevin as an early adopter who is eager to impress innocent strangers with all the innovation and capabilities of his new vehicle. The 60-second commercial also directly responds to consumer concerns about charging times and driving range by emphasizing how the Ioniq 6 can charge from 10% to 80% in as fast as 18 minutes using a 350kW, 800V DC ultra-fast charger and can travel up to 580km on a single charge for the Hyundai Ioniq 6 SE RWD.

The 30-second companion spot, “Grandkids,” continues to follow Kevin and Sosie's journey while emphasizing the advantages of going electric for future generations.

The advertisements will continue to run across broadcast and digital media in the US until March, when Ioniq 6 goes on sale. Additionally, there will be contextual social media content on YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram that highlights the notable Hyundai Ioniq 6 features like charge time, Bluelink, digital keys, and more.

Aside from the features shown on the advertisements, the Ioniq 6 also boasts Hyundai’s most aerodynamic styling to date as well as an array of modern features, such as Dual Color Ambient Lighting, Speed Sync Lighting, EV Performance Tune-up and Electric Active Sound Design.

The electrified streamliner's sleek body is supported by the E-GMP and a choice of 20-inch or 18-inch wheels.

The Ioniq 6 interior offers a comfy and personalized hideaway. The Dual Color Ambient Lighting allows a driver to customize the look and feel of the interior cabin by selecting from a spectrum of 64 colors and six pre-selected themes. The Speed Sync changes the brightness of the interior lighting in the first row based on the vehicle’s speed.

All of its seats are specifically-manufactured for all-electric models, and they are approximately 30% thinner than those in other conventional models, providing more space for passengers. There are four type-C and one type-A USB ports available to improve occupant convenience.

With the sedan's EV Performance Tune-Up System, the Ioniq 6's driving experience is enhanced. The system allows the driver to freely adjust steering effort, motor power, accelerator pedal sensitivity and driveline mode.

Meanwhile, the e-ASD feature adds a spaceship-like sound to the cabin, and that sound's texture changes based on the Ioniq 6’s driving status.

The Ioniq 6's long-range 77.4kWh battery can be mated with two electric motor layouts, either RWD or AWD. The top-of-the-line dual motor setup is an AWD option producing a combined power output of 239kW and 605Nm of torque. With the dual motor, the electric streamliner can go from zero to 100kph in 5.1 seconds.

Like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 provides an innovative vehicle-to-load (V2L) function that allows customers to plug in electric devices to the car to charge them. It is ideal for powering necessities during a power outage, camping or outdoor projects.

V2L is enabled using an available accessory adaptor and goes into the outside charging port. In addition to the outside power outlet, there is a second outlet underneath the back row seat for charging laptops, phones and other devices.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 also features a modular touchscreen dashboard that integrates a 12-inch full-touch infotainment display and 12-inch digital cluster that houses advanced technologies.

It also comes with Hyundai SmartSense that ensures safety and convenience on the road.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6’s new advertisements were directed by Oscar-nominated film and television commercial directors Will Speck and Josh Gordon and were produced by  award-winning production company Furlined.
