Next-generation Mirage to take styling cues from Xpander

MANILA: Slowly and steadily, Mitsubishi cars have adopted the Dynamic Shield design one after the other. Courtesy of this modern-day appearance, the Mitsubishi models like Xpander, Triton/Strada, Montero Sport, Eclipse Cross, ASX, and others have not only looked better than ever before but also attracted new customers. Following the suite, the Mitsubishi Mirage will very soon get into its new avatar and flaunt an Xpander like Dynamic Shield look.

In case you doubt the credibility of this news, the information has come straight from Tsunehiro Kunimoto, who is the Mitsubishi Motors Corporation's division manager of design.

The next-generation Mitsubishi Mirage will come out as either 2020 or 2021 Mirage and sport an Eclipse Cross inspired angular body language. Moreover, the all-new Mitsubishi Mirage will not be an A-segment car anymore. The newest iteration of the Mirage will be underpinned by the Renault-Nissan Alliance CMF-B architecture that also lays the foundation of the likes of Nissan March/Micra and the Renault Clio. As a result, the Japanese car will move to the B-segment.

Soon after the all-new Mirage, other Mitsubishi models will also adopt the Dynamic Shield design language, said Kunimoto. Also, more and more Mitsubishi models will benefit from the alliance over time.
